The Bible is full of prophecies. They can be referenced as early as the book of Genesis, which is the first book of the Bible -- all the way to the book of Revelation -- the last book. If you want to know what is going on in the world, read the Bible. Everything that is happening in your life and around the world is in the Bible. You will never know this unless you take the time to read, research, and study it -- just like the Bible says to do.
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the words of truth." (The King James Study Bible, 2 Timothy. 2.15).
The Bible is the most phenomenal book ever written. It is a book that cannot be exhausted by the amount of times you read it. There are extensive doors in it and incomprehensible depth to it. Its pages cannot be drained of the wisdom they hold. Its the only book that provides this. Everything the Bible speaks about of the great things reading it daily will do for you and your life, is the absolute truth.
First, you must believe it for the word to come to life in your life. If you do not believe the Bible, you will not reap what it has for you -- it is not designed that way. You will never hear of someone who does not believe the Bible receive all of the hidden mysteries and treasures of it. And if you do not believe the Bible, this means you doubt who God is -- which is the TRUTH.
Many people go to church but do not do what the Bible says to do. Many people go to church and do not spend time alone in prayer with the Lord. They just go to church on Sundays or wear a cross around their neck and use that as a covering to say they are with God when their lifestyle is contrary to the Word of God. These people do not fear the Lord. Going to church on Sundays and living a different life during the week is not a servant of the Lord. Jesus came to earth not only to take the keys of death away from Satan, He came to show you how to live your life properly as a servant of God and to share prophecies for you of things to come as well.
One of Jesus' prophecies were exactly what the world is experiencing today -- wars and rumors of wars -- which is one of the signs leading up to the end times.
If you take the time to read Matthew chapter 24, the entire chapter, you will see that Jesus begins a soliloquy describing to the disciples the signs and episodes the world will endure during their lives leading up to the end times. In that verse God is speaking to you and me as well. This chapter is part of the continued prophecies of the Bible. In Matthew chapter 24 Jesus describes a catalog of events that have to do with war and dissension, and pain and sorrows, coupled with a plethora of more occurrences to follow. He goes onto explain everything leading up to His eventual return to the earth for the millennial kingdom.
In Matthew 24:6 Jesus says, "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come" (New International Version, Matthew. 24.6). The Lord is describing a prophecy that is to come when He walked the earth, but is not officially an occurrence that is indicative of the end. It is another marker that brings us closer to His return. Right now what is happening with Russia and Ukraine; China and America; Israel and Palestine; Somalia; Yemen; Syria and more -- are all part of what Christ describes in Matthew 24:6 -- wars and rumors of wars. God is speaking about extreme violence on earth between kingdoms, which in today's life, are countries. When the Bible speaks of nations, it is speaking about nationalities. The Lord tells us when this happens not to be alarmed. So, in obedience and belief of your father, you should not be alarmed by anything you are seeing around the world, because Christ already spoke of it happening, and says specifically, "see to it that you are not alarmed." (New International Version, Matthew 24.6). Christ is providing comfort for those who are believers and read the Bible by saying to not be alarmed. He is saying this to you personally. That is what a father does for his children, he provides comfort during rough times and preparation for expected rough times. The Lord also speaks about famines, pestilence (sickness) and earthquakes in divers places during these times as well in Matthew chapter 24. It is all part of a precursor to the end times. All of the volcano eruptions, landslides, earthquakes, food disparities, harsh weather, floods, protesting with fighting in the streets, and covid-19 were prophesied by the Lord in Matthew 24. Jesus also adds that this time will be the beginning of sorrows. When you see people crying and weeping during these times because of any of these tragedies Christ speaks of, you are seeing prophecy right before your eyes.
We are in serious times in the world because wickedness, which is sin -- is rampant. Jesus addresses this as well in Matthew 24. "Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold." (New International Version, Matthew 24.12). The world is beginning to witness what happens when you remove the Word of God from it and replace it with sin and wickedness. Chaos, lawlessness, cold hearts, and a litany of issues will eventually ensue.
When you read the Bible and stay close in prayer and obedience with the Lord and His word, you will not be alarmed and taken by surprise by any of the events that have occurred or will occur in the future, because you know your father (Jesus) already prepared you for it by what He shares with us in the Bible. The Lord spoke of these things to His children, so we are prepared and do not worry or fear during a time when the world is in a state of panic and disorder. When the world is in chaos, God's children are supposed to be the pillars for society to lean on. Why? Because we have inside information to what is actually happening or going to happen before it happens. We also have the Holy Spirit inside of us, who possesses no fear -- so we have no fear in us either. God is that good to His children. If you are lost, lean on the Lord during these times. Pray. Read the Bible. The Bible is your refuge and the truth. Jesus is the TRUTH -- and the truth will always set you FREE.
